Biographies

Katarina Rejger has been directing documentaries for the past fifteen years. She started as an anchorwoman for several programs on the Dutch public TV (Klokhuis, Paspoort) before directing her own TV programs and documentaries (Wodka, De Opvoeders van Nederland...). She holds a degree in psychology and lives in Amsterdam.
Eric van den Broek is a TV director and cameraman for fifteen years. He directed several programs for the Dutch public TV VPRO including series for children and documentaries. He reported live for Dutch tv- and radiochannels during the Serbian Revolution and the Nato bombings in 1999. He lives in Amsterdam.

Joint filmography

The Making of the Revolution (2001): Winner of the Special Prix Europa (Berlin 2001), the International Journalism Prize (Washington 2002), the Human Rights Prize (St. Barbara 2001). This film offers an inside account of the last two weeks of Slobodan Milosevic’s regime, as seen from the perspective of the Serbian student opposition group OTPOR! (literally, “Resistance”).

Circus Sarajevo (2000): A documentary about the hundreds of internationals who came to Bosnia and Herzegovina after the end of the war, managing millions of euros of aid and crisscrossing Sarajevo with their brand new four wheel drives.

Terrorist (1999): After the war in Bosnia, Gavrilo Princip, the student who killed the Austrian emperor in 1914, is perceived as a hero by some, as a terrorist by others.

De eerste trein: For the first time since the end of the war, a train is riding between Mostar and Sarajevo to carry people to the U2 concert in Sarajevo. Both Bosnian Croats and Bosnian Muslims are afraid to take it.

Waarnemers: The daily life of two international observers in charge of monitoring the first elections in Bosnia after the war.

Milosevic misstap (1998): Documentaries about the leaders of the student protests of 1998 in Serbia.

Een aanvardbaar risico (1997): Soldiers tell their experience to a psychologist after a six month mission in Bosnia.

Rejger & Van den Broek also directed Paradise (1999), about the fall of the pyramidal saving scheme in Suriname, Ten Onrechte Verdacht (1997), and several TV series: Open Deur (1996), Wereldberichten (1996) en Wat doe jij nou (1995).
