Vera & Vlasta
Vera was born in Kraljevo. After her studies, she receives a scholarship for specialisation abroad as the best young anaesthesiologist in Serbia.
Vlasta receives the same scholarship, as the best one in Croatia. That's how forty years ago Vera and Vlasta became best friends in Denmark. When the war breaks out, Vlasta's son, cameraman Gordan Lederer, is shot while filming for Croatian television. The images of his death are broadcast all over the world. Vlasta declares in an interview: 'For me, Serbs do not exist anymore.' Vera watches these images on Serbian television. She is devastated but she cannot reach Vlasta. 'Why don't you answer my calls? Have I become just "some Serbian" for you too?', Vera asks her Vlasta in the video letter.
